  • One of my NANORAY 800s broke, and since it's been discontinued, I picked up one of these in 3U.
    This comparison is with the same string at the same tension as my NANORAY (used about 3 times in practice).

    The NANORAY has better repulsion.
    The FLARE feels like it holds for an instant and then fires. The NANORAY fires the moment it makes contact, so it's sharp.

    What surprised me was that the shaft flexes.
    Because it flexes more than the NANORAY, the feel is softer. At the same string tension, I felt a bit of power escaping.
    I think this part comes down to preference.

    As for control, I found it better than the NANORAY!
    It feels like I can send the shuttle where I want.

    The head feels a little heavy, but it's not hard to handle. Just slightly.

    Maybe because I'm not used to it yet, I still find the NANORAY 800 less quirky and easier to use.
    If you're torn between the NANORAY and the NANOFLARE, buying a NANORAY before stock runs out is a good option.

    After using it twice, I restrung it at +2 lbs, and the feeling of power escaping went down somewhat.
    It might be better to string it fairly tight.

    *I may rewrite this review after using it a bit more.

  • This racket features the new material Countervail.
    The head feels a bit on the heavy side.

    Maybe because of the CV, there seemed to be little or no feel when I hit.
    The shuttle was flying, but it felt like it wasn't, which felt really off...
    In reality it flies well and there's no problem at all.
    My friend said it didn't bother them.

    It just didn't seem to suit me.

  • I borrowed a friend's racket and hit with it. I normally use the NR800, so this is a comparison with that.

    In the hand, the head feels a little heavy.
    When you swing, the shaft flexes and the head whips through with a whoosh.
    It flexes, but differently from the DUORA 7, and it's a kind of flex I'm not too fond of...
    It feels a bit quirky.

    As people say, it's easy to hit deep!

    Given this, I think the NR800 is less quirky and easier to recommend.
