Tony It's not just about the design!

This is the model Lin Dan wore.
At first glance you'll probably think the design looks unfamiliar, and with good reason.
      These shoes have no tongue.
Picture a shoe that wraps around your foot like a sushi roll.

Because of that, the fit around the midfoot is excellent.
As you'd expect from the COMFORT series, the cushioning is great, but at first they may feel a bit stiffer and heavier than other YONEX shoes.
Strangely though, that feeling fades as you use them, and before long you'll start to feel how much support they give.

That said, I haven't yet felt the cushioning all that strongly myself.
I guess badminton shoes these days all have good cushioning.

Great cushioning and easy to do footwork in. When they were new, the weight bothered me, but once I broke them in I didn't notice it at all.

      Goodminton Lin Dan's go-to model

      User review

Personally, I found the cushioning a little firm. It felt more like a snug fit than a wide one. The older SC6i was easier to wear and felt more comfortable.
