    User Review SummaryAI Summary
Highly praised for powerful smash shots and control performance, while the head-heavy design's weight and handling difficulty emphasize its positioning as a singles-focused racket for advanced players.
    ■ Frequently mentioned points
    • Smash shots sink easily with smooth consecutive hard hits
    • Head-heavy design provides stable extension on overhead shots
    • Excellent control with stable clears and hairpin drops
    • 4U weight recommended; heaviness is a concern for doubles play
    • Advanced players needed; beginners require extended learning period
    ■ Representative voices
▲ PositiveDespite being head-heavy, the Rotational Generator System enables quick maneuverability and excellent shuttle control, producing surprisingly sinking smash shots—truly the best racket.
▽ CriticalThe head-heavy design causes arm fatigue during extended use, making it difficult to keep up with the fast rallies typically found in doubles play.

      Hoshino (Experience:4-5 years)

At 4U, it felt like a racket that's easy to use not just for advanced players but also for intermediates. As you'd expect from a racket that touts "continuous smashes," it's easy to smash with, and it swings more easily than the VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II. I didn't feel much difference in hairpins or lobs...

    • The Toughest of the Tough

The Toughest of the Tough (Experience:6-10 years) An excellent singles racket

It's probably the best racket for singles players.
I've used a lot of rackets so far, and it's an excellent racket, second only to the 88S.
For smashes and clears, I don't think any racket beats it.
However, it's extremely head-heavy, so even the 4U tires your arm after long use.
In doubles you can't keep up with fast exchanges, so I can't recommend the ASTROX 99 for that.

Bado Bado Badminton (Experience:2-3 years) What is this!?

I bought the 4UG5. When I held it, I wondered if the head-heavy feel might bother me, but once I actually hit with it, my smashes and clears got more force, as if the racket had bared its fangs. Drops and hairpins were also super easy to hit because the face is stable.
If you just want faster smashes, I sooooo recommend it!

Tadakuni (Experience:4-5 years) A racket for power hitters

It's very easy to swing, and even though it's head-heavy you don't feel the weight much, so you can hit heavy smashes over and over.
It's a singles racket, but strong men can use the 4U well enough for doubles too.

      Smash pillar (Experience:4-5 years)

I switched from the VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II. Both are 3U5, and both are strung with BG66 ULTIMAX at 28 lbs.

For drives and smashes, I think the VOLTRIC is better. The ASTROX 99 has a softer feel, so it's hard to tell from the feedback whether you hit the sweet spot.
Also, smashing with the VOLTRIC produces a thunderous boom that echoes through the gym, but the ASTROX 99 doesn't make such an intense sound. It feels like it holds the shuttle a bit and releases it gently.

For people confident in their athleticism who want to hit the strongest, fastest, heaviest smashes with a satisfying feel, I recommend the VOLTRIC. For people who aren't that strong but still want to focus on smashes, it's the ASTROX 99.

Kaga Hyakumangoku (Experience:4-5 years) Impressions using the 4U

As you'd expect from a head-heavy racket, smashes go down well, and cuts and hairpins are easy to control.
However (maybe it's just that my skill and strength are lacking), backhands are a bit hard to hit, and using it for a long time tires me out even though it's 4U...
It's a racket that demands a certain level of strength and skill to master, but it's especially reliable for attacking

    • Just a Badminton Lover

Just a Badminton Lover (Experience:2-3 years) Tried it as a singles player

I use the Lee Chong Wei color. It's head-heavy, but thanks to the Rotational Generator System it's quick to maneuver, and it suits a stable attacking game. It really grips the shuttle, and smashes go down surprisingly steeply. Receives and drives shouldn't be hard either if your wrist is reasonably strong. However, it's still a bit heavier than others, so it's not suited to doubles
