  • These are my impressions with a 4UG5 strung at a fairly low 24lbs.

    My first impression on picking it up was that even though it's 4U, it felt heavier than my 3U DUORA7. I immediately tried some light hitting at the ceiling, and the feel was extremely heavy and dull, and the shuttle didn't fly at all. Some odd part of my arm also felt stiff, and I almost cried.

    When I switched back to the DUORA7 for a bit, I kind of understood why it wasn't working, and when I tried hitting without hesitation, sort of leaving it to the head (?), it transformed. The shots are well controlled and fly out sharply, there's quite a direct feel coming back to your hand on impact, and it seems easy to control. Whereas the DUORA7 feels like it sends the shuttle soaring solidly, the 88D has a somewhat similar feel but drives even further forward, and it makes me want to hit hard shot after shot.

  • When I started badminton, I used an Aerotus70 that I'd bought ages ago (and only used a few times), and after that a Nanoray750, but its frame cracked after just half a year. I wanted a red racket next, so after going back and forth with the Voltlic80, I bought this one, which had just been released. The reason was simply that it seemed to be aimed at women, so I figured it'd be just right for a middle-aged guy like me.

    Right after I started using it, which I think was largely because I was still inexperienced, the difference from the Nanoray750 was so big that I felt like "I messed up." But after about a month, the feel on both forehand and backhand became really pleasant, and since it handles all kinds of strokes, I came to enjoy using it.

    Neither the weight nor the head is especially light or heavy, so it feels "very ordinary," but for some reason it's easy to handle and seems like it will last a long time. That's the kind of racket it is. I recommend it for women too.

  • I've used the DUORA 7 (3U) for years (since it first came out), and for the past six months or so I've been using it alongside the ASTROX 88D (4U).
    This time my DR7 broke (for the second time), and I was torn between the DR7, DR10 and DR10LT as a replacement, but the shiny gloss paint, which I consider the only flaw of the DUORA series, bothered me, so I ended up buying the cool-looking semi-gloss Z-STRIKE (3U). All of them are strung with BG66UM at a tension of 24.

    There's none of the "whoa, what is this, it's hard to use" feeling I had when I first used the DUORA 7 (before that I used the NR750) or the 88D; it feels like "a more solid DUORA 7" and is very easy to handle.

    That said, I don't think it's very suitable for beginners or women. The DUORA 7 feels overwhelmingly easier to handle.
    Also, around me, the DUORA series is often described as "hard to handle" or "not my style", and I don't recommend it to those people.
