  • As the title says, the thin shaft and high-modulus carbon really stand out.
For a 6.0mm shaft, face stability is pretty good. Not as good as the 100ZZ, of course.
The thin shaft flexes, but maybe because of the high-modulus carbon, it snaps back right away. Personally I think they focused too much on high modulus. I'd like it to have a bit more of a lingering, sticky feel.
I think people who love the ASTROX in particular will feel they want more of that lingering feel.

  • Finally, from around this racket, good carbon like M40X started being used.

    I think it's a good racket.
It has no major distinguishing features, but it's easy to use.
My image is the performance of what YONEX fans call the "No. 7 racket" position, plus extra stiffness.

Having a 5U is quite nice. (Though it might end up being in-between in performance….)

Honestly, compared with the third-generation ASTROX 88D (PRO) released around March 2024, I can't help feeling that one is better apart from matters of taste like the design, which is a bit disappointing.

    A side note.
Chen Long used a racket that looked like the AX80 before he retired, but almost no information at all has come out about (the inside of) his racket.
