  • My first impression before using it was just one word: "Stiff‼️"...
    When I checked the flex by hand, it was so super-stiff that I couldn't feel any flex even compared to the GUNGNIR 07R, so I thought, did I mess up... but when I actually used it, it was surprisingly easy to hit, enough that the stiffness didn't bother me. By design it's head-heavy, but the head weight didn't bother me when swinging, and on top of that, with such a stiff shaft I thought, won't it not go anywhere unless I swing really deliberately?
    But it's surprisingly easy to receive with... phew
    The shaft is super stiff, yet it's ridiculously easy to hit.
    Every racket has a concept, and whether you feel it as a strength or a quirk depends on the person. Since I'm used to longer rackets like the GUNGNIR, I haven't fully adapted to the GRAVITAS yet, but if it's this easy to hit even before I'm used to it, it's a racket that made me think I should have bought the GRAVITAS 9.0 instead of the GUNGNIR 07R when my GUNGNIR 05A broke.
    For anyone reading the comments and planning to buy: the GRAVITAS is made in China, so unit-to-unit variation is larger than with Taiwan-made rackets. I recommend buying from a shop that measures swing weight.

  • I think it's a racket that not only even-balance lovers, but also people who usually use head-light or head-heavy rackets and wonder whether they really suit them, could use without feeling anything off.
    Only this racket has 22×22 grommets, so shots tend to be stable overall.
    The new 6J model has a frame one size smaller, so the face is slightly thicker; I felt it would be better to adjust the string tension.

  • I started badminton in middle age, so I usually used GOSEN and VICTOR 4U5G rackets as my main ones, thinking they'd be easier to maneuver.
    Partly due to age, my shoulder and elbow range of motion is worse than when I was young, and recently my elbow has felt off, with signs of tennis elbow, so I figured swinging a heavier racket compactly might be less strain than full-swinging a light one? I was looking for a head-light racket and ended up with this one.
    Honestly, I was surprised that the speed of a big swing with a 4U racket and the speed of a compact swing with a 3U racket are no different.
    I felt it's not about light rackets having faster swing speed or about head-light versus head-heavy, but that what suits you right now is best.
    I don't feel at all that it's hard to maneuver because it's heavy, or that shots are light because it's head-light...
    It was my first Wilson, but its maneuverability is really good.

  • My grip strength is over 70 kg and I'm confident in my arm strength, but since I started badminton as a senior, my arm swing is clumsy and my head speed is slow, so I usually chose 4U rackets as my main ones. Normally I used 4U rackets with even balance or slightly head-heavy, but my hitting point was too high and I couldn't shake the habit of forcing the angle with my wrist, so I'd never been able to hit a smash that goes down steeply, so I took the plunge and tried a head-light racket.
    Since I switched to a 3U that's 5 g heavier, I thought my swing speed would be slower than before and I'd only be able to hit light shots, but it was very easy to swing, I could feel the racket head whip through, and being able to hit in front of my body, I became able to hit shots that spring off the strings, like throwing a ball, without swinging all out. For the first time, I could hit smashes with a non-jumping half smash from behind mid-court that dropped around the opponent's service line, and receiving became much easier. What I bought is the later model with the camouflage pattern that uses Silk Skin and other features. I keep 2 strung at different tensions in my bag, and I bought 1 more for home in case one breaks.

  • I tried the S5 and found it easy to use, so I bought the S6J.
    Its shaft is the stiffest among Composite Techno's rackets, but the feel is softer than I imagined.
    The face doesn't wobble, so it flies reasonably well even if you miss the sweet spot a little.
    Since it's the higher-end model above the S5, as a user I'd have appreciated a bit more punch.
    A similar racket would be something like a slightly more head-light NANOFLARE 800
