  • I like GOSEN rackets, and I've used six: the GUNGNIR ALPHA, CUSTOM EDGE TYPE-V2 and TYPE-N (which I've since let go), the CUSTOM EDGE TYPE-K that I'm still using, and the GRAVITAS 8 and 9.
    It's subjective, but this is the easiest to use among these six.
    What I like is that for a 4U it doesn't feel too light; you can feel the weight, and while its swing isn't outstanding, you can swing through fully.
    The GRAVITAS 8 feels stiffer in the shaft, but you feel more overall weight with this one, so you can hit powerful shots.
    Even though you feel the weight, as a certain YouTuber said, receiving is really easy and it's simple to send the shuttle deep. I don't have the skills for finesse shots like feints, so I can't say much about nimbleness, but I think its maneuverability is good.
    With the stiff shaft it may not suit people without much strength, but for people with a certain amount of strength, I think it's a quirk-free racket, so I recommend it.

    These days I prefer power-type rackets, so I've let it go, but when I was using it, it was truly quirk-free and easy to use.
    It's even balance with a soft-ish shaft, so people looking for power will probably find it lacking, but even though it's 3U it isn't heavy, the swing is really good and maneuverability is good too, so as long as you're not after power, I think it's a racket that appeals to everyone.

  • I could buy it at half price in a campaign, and since it's for badminton players over 40, I got interested and bought it.
    It's somewhere between head-light and even balance, a bit short, and since it's 5U, it's light and the shaft is on the soft side.
    I'm big and fairly strong, so I find it lacking when it comes to hitting strong shots.
    But as you'd expect from something aimed at (?) players over 40, fine plays that don't require strength and receives are really easy, and I feel it suits play specialized in the front court in doubles, or a style in singles that's all about holding on.
    Anyway, its ease of handling is outstanding.

  • It's 680mm, but it's a head-light 4U, so it didn't feel heavy and swung through well.
    Being long didn't make receives or fine plays harder, but I didn't get the impression that its maneuverability was amazing either; it felt just normal?
    For me, the shaft was a bit soft and it lacked power in places, so I let it go, but
    even people without much strength could probably hit strong shots using the centrifugal force from the length?
