NEW OFFICIAL is a Grade 1 approved shuttle of the Nippon Badminton Association, so it's also used at domestic tournaments. It used to be the top model, but now there's also a product one step above it called TOURNAMENT. Compared to cheap shuttles, it's overwhelmingly more durable. It doesn't break easily and smashes feel great, so I highly recommend it.

What I've been allowed to use at my club now is the Wilson BLAZE SX9600. It's very light and maneuverable, so even I, without much stamina, like using it. My arm didn't get very tired even in long matches. The feel on impact was good too. I can react quickly during drives, and I can retrieve shots too. Just by being light, it swings this freely and lets you go for counters.

I think it's by far the best shuttle even among YONEX's lineup. (Partly because of the price, of course.) Unlike other brands' shuttles, the feel lets you tell the difference between when you've hit it cleanly and when you haven't, so it's perfect as a match shuttle. But given the price, it's hard to use for practice.

To give you just the result of using it for the first time: it's really good. First of all, it's tough and the feathers didn't break quickly, and the feel was good. Cheap shuttles sometimes fly strangely, but not a single one I used did. Looking at the price alone, some people may find it expensive, but once you use it, it's completely different and lasts a long time, so I don't feel it's expensive

A review of how GOSEN's "FEATHER BULLET III" shuttle feels in use. I used FEATHER BULLET III in my school club. We switched from YONEX shuttles to GOSEN shuttles, and they're very durable, but they get even more durable if you dampen them a little with a spray bottle and let them dry before use. In my opinion, the feathers don't fray easily even after 5 minutes each of basic smash, cut, hairpin, and high clear drills. If you use them for practice matches after basic drills, I think one will just barely last a game, but with lots of smashes it won't make it to the interval. So I think it's a good idea to do match practice with rules like no smashing.
