    User Review SummaryAI Summary
Highly praised for exceptional smash speed and smooth swing feel, but serious durability issues overshadow its performance. Multiple reports of frame breaks from light contact or smashes suggest the racket's fragility is a critical flaw that leaves users torn between performance and durability concerns.
    ■ Frequently mentioned points
    • Smash speed increases dramatically with excellent feel
    • Outstanding swing feel with superior maneuverability
    • Head-light design enabling precise control
    • Hard shaft with strong repulsion power
    • Poor durability and prone to breaking
    ■ Representative voices
▲ PositiveAll shot speeds have increased significantly. Swing feel is unmatched with incredible exhilaration, and smash speed improves dramatically. An excellent racket that delivers superior performance.
▽ Critical3 frames broke within one year—one from smashing, two from light contact. One broke after just 3 practice sessions post-purchase. The durability issue is frustrating, making players timid about aggressive contact plays.

Mr. Oshima (Experience:More than 20 years) Durability issues

I've been playing badminton since the days of wooden rackets. I've tried almost every YONEX racket except the beginner ones, and my all-time favorite was the ZF2. Overall nothing beat it, and the news that it was discontinued was really sad. After that, while I was making do with the AX100ZZ, I got to borrow a demo 1000Z earlier than anyone (?). As a head-heavy user, the head clearly felt light to me, but my worry of "can this really make my smashes faster?" was blown away with the first shot.
On top of that, maybe because it's a thick-frame racket, the direction is stable, and above all the maneuverability is much better. I sold the 6 rackets I owned (100ZZ, NF800, 88D PRO) and bought 4 new 1000Zs to use as my main rackets from now on.
One drawback is that it's extremely fragile. One brand-new racket crumpled so easily from just the slightest contact. That's a first in my 40+ years of experience. Others seem to have reported it too, so this durability might be fatal, and if there are many cases a recall can't be ruled out.
Personally, I took out new insurance just in case.
It's an incredibly good racket, but also an incredibly weak one, so you could call it a double-edged sword.

      R (Experience:More than 20 years) Extremely fragile

I never cared much about performance differences between rackets, but this is one I thought was really good. I think every shot got faster.

      However, it's way too fragile!
Three rackets broken in one year: one from a smash and two from a single light contact. When one broke in my third practice after buying it, I was really deflated, or rather, I got angry about the durability.
Contact in doubles happens on both sides, even with beginners, but this level of durability is just not acceptable.
In close plays where it's unclear who should take the shuttle, I'll definitely become timid.

I'd like to ask YONEX to investigate the durability, and I don't want them to brush it off with an explanation like "it's weak against external impacts."

sleepy-panda (Experience:More than 20 years) An all-in big-swing smash racket: a wild horse you have to accept on its own terms

Using the 4U. Is this really the direction of the NANOFLARE series??? I wondered, but in a way I think it has shown one clear direction.
In character, the shaft is stiff and it feels strongly head-light, so it's made for power smashers. At first I deliberately strung it below 20 lbs to create a pocketing feel, but then it flew too far with no power, which reminded me that repulsion is everything with this racket.
Smashes are incredibly fast when you hit the sweet spot. Speed-wise it's about the same as the hit model Z-SPEED, but the maneuverability is better than the Z-SPEED, so it's more efficient. However, since it pushes with speed rather than driving the shuttle down steeply, it should be easier for opponents to receive. In fact, several smashers around me have switched to it, and all of their smashes became easier to return. In other words, if you don't want your smash returned, just raise your swing speed. Pure muscle-brain logic. For that, I felt stringing at a higher tension works well. Also, drives have good repulsion, but since it's light, you need something besides speed. Receives fly well thanks to the repulsion, but weak shots often float up, so swing speed is required here too. In the end, I think this racket is for players who can raise their swing speed enormously.

      Yabaiiii (Experience:4-5 years) Fragile

Way too fragile. I used it for half a year, and the shot speed and control were pretty good. But a smash hit the frame and it broke. I don't recommend it for people who often hit frame shots.

genius (Experience:2-3 years) Easy to use

Clears and smashes are especially easy to hit, you can hit powerful shots solidly, and it's easy to switch between high clears and driven clears.

Golgo 13 (Experience:11-20 years) Breaks easily?...

My son, a 9th grader using the 3U6, broke it while hitting a smash. One week later, his second one that he used as a backup also broke the same way while smashing, at almost the same spot. They were only 2 months and 1 month old, and since he mainly plays singles, there was no contact either... In the past when the FB came out we also had 3 break in 2 months, but given the price, please give me a break... My son loved it because his smashes got faster and he'd switched his main from the ASTROX 77 PRO to the 1000Z, so it's really disappointing...
Both were replaced free of charge for now, but the one we sent to the manufacturer first is out of stock so it still hasn't arrived... It also makes no sense that the free replacement for the one that broke a week later has already arrived. And it's sad that even though it's an easy-to-use racket he loves, he's so scared of breaking it that he holds back in his own way, saying he can't use it in doubles where contact might happen, and only uses it for singles.

Nao (Experience:4-5 years) Really like it

I originally used light rackets as my main, so in terms of weight it felt heavier than the NANOFLARE 800, maybe because it's a thick-frame racket, but once you get used to it you don't feel the weight
Everyone says it's fragile, but I bought it right when it came out and used it as my main and it never broke at all…
Maybe I just use it well✨
(Got a bit carried away there)
Personally I plan to keep using it as my number one main racket
After all, for people who love the NANOFLARE series, the 1000Z is the top of the NANOFLARE line
