Among players my age, even those at the national level, most now play matches mostly lifting the shuttle, and my partner and I were no exception: before we knew it, our style had become keeping rallies going while hard hitting, and lately we've often been on the back foot even in matches against university students. As it happened, our pair broke up, so I decided to return to the style I had before we teamed up, and while searching for a racket I ran into this insane racket.
It's heavy. It hits with real heft. And the frame is incredibly stiff. But it doesn't feel head-heavy; it's mid-balance. Heavy rackets tend to sacrifice swing speed and may not be the trend, but since it's mid-balance, there are few problems. I've always been the type who likes to string on the soft side, so with the racket's weight and the shaft's stiffness you can crush the shuttle and make heavy, powerful attacks, and receiving is not much of a problem as long as you can set the racket face. What I especially appreciate is that backhand smashes are powerful, which widens the range of my attack.
But I do think training so that you can swing this racket with ease is a must.Overall Control Touch Swing Operability

Lately, with 3U rackets I'd been getting jammed by university varsity players, so I was struggling to improve my receive and overall maneuverability without sacrificing the quality of my smashes and drives, and that's when it turned out a friend happened to own this one. I borrowed it and hit with it, and all my worries vanished. Smashes almost always win the point, and receives are no problem as long as you know they're coming. The best part is that it's quite easy to swing, and it puts power behind the shot despite being light, so backhand smashes are pretty usable too. In other words it's quite head-heavy, and if that's not an issue for you, I felt this is the only choice. You could call it MIZUNO's version of the Z series. At the main draw of the All Japan corporate championships my racket and the shuttle didn't match well, so I wish I'd come across this sooner. Anyway, if you're ready to go all in on attack, I think this racket will have your back. A few drawbacks(?): shots where you just block the shuttle don't carry as far as you'd expect. You need to swing at least a little. I think that's due to the stiff shaft, and it's hopeless especially when you miss the sweet spot. Also, the hitting sound feels kind of damp. I guess it can't be helped at 23 lbs. But if you hit the smash properly, it has so much speed and power that even the hitter is surprised. Why did they discontinue it?
