NO.1 Badminton review site

It's head-heavy with a stiff shaft and a heavy frame, so I braced myself when I bought it, but it turned out to be an ordinary, easy-to-use racket. Smashes definitely got faster, and I think the maneuverability takes a little getting used to, but since Babolat isn't very popular, I was lucky to get it cheap. I'm going to break it in from here.

I own two generations of the X-FEEL BLAST and use the latest one.
No new X-FEEL has come out, and the SATELITE BLAST was really cheap, so
I bought it.

It has exactly the same shape as the previous-generation X-FEEL, but
the body is a bit slimmer,
so it's less stiff and softer.

I don't like soft rackets, so I'll keep it as a spare.

It's a wild horse of a racket, even more so than YONEX's Z series.
The racket itself feels light, but it's quite head-heavy, and on top of that the shaft is very thin and so flexible it's almost floppy, and the hollow inside the shaft is flattened, so you really have to take the shuttle out in front and hit as if covering it. As a result, if you swing with an Eastern grip, you tend to miss the sweet spot, and getting used to it is really tough. Plus, the shuttle flies even if you just meet it, so controlling your power is hard. Smash receives tend to go out the back, and hairpins and half pushes float up all over the place unless you hold back. Drops are also hard to judge for power.
But the smash speed is so fast that it outweighs all of that. The Z-SPEED is certainly fast, and the ZF2 is fast too, but the BLAST's smash is one that bores in right at the opponent's body. The adrenaline really gets pumping. I think it could work for an advanced player who doesn't think about finesse and just attacks relentlessly, who values the feeling of the shuttle biting into the strings over repulsion, and who doesn't take a big backswing before hitting. It's no exaggeration to say it's for enthusiasts, myself included.

The shaft is on the stiff side, so it's for intermediate players and up. The head is heavy, so it's powerful on smashes. It's probably ideal for power players. Drives are easy to hit too. However, you can feel a bit of weight, so whether it suits you or not will be pretty clear-cut.

The stiffness of the shaft is just right.
Overhead shots have a really solid feel, so players with power in particular will probably be satisfied with how smashes feel, don't you think?
How about it as a first racket for people who've never used Babolat?
